The adult Silvered Leaf Monkey is identified by its dark, silver-tipped fur and its dark-skinned face; the infants, however, are a startling bright orange.

The species can generally be found in groups of up to 10 individuals feeding on young leaf shoots or forest fruits in swampy areas, riverine forests and back-mangrove.

It ranges from Indochina, Southern Burma, Southern Thailand and Peninsular Malaysia to Sumatra, Java and Borneo. In Sabah (Malaysian Borneo) reddish adults also occur.
