This small toad inhabits lowland tropical forests, and can be found close to clear, sandy streams. It is a jumper, and is able to climb vegetation easily.

The dorsal surface is dark brown to orange brown, and the skin surface is peppered with tiny warts. The general, uninflated body shape is flat and rectangular, and the forelimbs slender. The call is a monotonous rasping sound.

The species ranges from Burma, through Thailand and Peninsular Malaysia to Sumatra. It is absent in Singapore.
