Chek
Jawa Beach draws crowds
THIS little enclave at the eastern tip of Pulau Ubin has become the latest attraction on the island. Hundreds of people turned up to enjoy the rustic beauty and marine wildlife at Chek Jawa on Sunday, three days after the National Development Ministry decided to defer reclamation works there. 'We're glad Chek Jawa has been spared,' said bank officer Sylvia Gan, who was there with her sister. 'Money can't buy such unspoilt beauty.'
