Eco-tourism area in Ulu Padas

Long Pasia villager Ishak Tadem showing a plant known as Alocasia eupria, which is found in the conservation area. - NSTSIPITANG - The newly launched Long Pasia Heath Conservation Area will help promote eco-tourism in the Ulu Padas area in Sabah's southwest, said Sipitang Assemblyman Datuk Sapawi Ahmad when launching the conservation areas.
Heath forest, locally known as the kerangas forest, is rich in orchids, rhododendrons and pitcher plants. The are materialised after over 10 months of work by the local community in partnership with Worldwide Fund for Nature Malaysia. - NST
